When may each message be shared?
Some things you might want shared if you’re seriously ill. Others are only for after you’ve gone. You decide for each message. Below is exactly what would happen, step by step.
The two choices
- Share if I’m seriously unwell
- Shared if you become seriously unwell and can’t manage things yourself. Also delivered after your death.
- Deliver only after my death
- Never shared because of an illness, however serious.
About “seriously unwell”
- Only your verifiers (Priya Nair and Tom Becker) can report that you’re seriously unwell, and the same checks apply as for any report.
- If you recover, or are well enough to respond, you can pause or close the case yourself at any point.
- You can change any message’s choice later, whenever you like.
What would happen, with a 14-day wait
A verifier lets us know
One of your two verifiers tells us they believe you have died or become seriously unwell. A missed check-in or a missed payment never starts this on its own.
We check with you, and with the other verifier
For at least 72 hours we try to reach you by email, text, and in the app. The other verifier is asked to confirm the situation independently. If you reply “I’m OK”, everything pauses.
A person on our team reviews it
A trained member of our staff looks at what has been reported before anything moves forward.
A 14-day waiting period
You will hear from us when it starts, halfway through, 3 days before it ends, 1 day before it ends. One tap pauses it at any time.
Messages are delivered
Each recipient receives only the messages chosen for them. If the report is about a serious illness, only messages marked “Share if I’m seriously unwell” are shared. Messages marked “Deliver only after my death” stay private.
You can pause this at any point before delivery, from any email, text, or the app, with one tap. No phone call, no forms, no waiting for our team.
